It's wonderful
It is truly inspiring to see a man in this age of greed and big business ruling the world, give it all up for noble social causes. We need more people who aren't so puffed up with self import and realize that money is not the be all and end all.
Good to see

Wow, what a ballsy move!
The world needs more Tim Gills.
"Long" John Holmes
Not such a good guy after all
Sure, Tim Gill is doing a good thing. But that doesn't make him a saint. Maybe he's feeling guilty about all the years he spent being rude to staff and customers. Quark has a legacy of arrogance and rudeness--internal and external--that eclipses any other software company, including Microsoft. I'll never forget being part of a conference call between a Quark tech support manager and a large corporation (reporting a bug) in which the tech support guy called us "a bunch of idiots." It was later found to be a legitimate bug but no apology ever came. This kind of attitude doesn't start at the ground floor, it trickles down from above. I say "good riddance," but it may already be too late for Quark.
Gill isn't Quark
I agree with Anita here. One thing though: while Quark is certainly diversifying and adding more internet-based tools, they are certainly not moving away from the print industry!
And for the person who wrote in, still holding a grudge against Quark's tech support, I say if you can't let go of what happened years ago, I pity your blood pressure. Anyway, Tim G. can't be held responsible for every employee! Geez.
