Thanks for your commment. I can assure you that neither Katrin or John are making any money from us off their photos. But we must protect their rights as digital artists. That's what the copyright notice does. And I'll have you know that Katrin and John donated their writers' fees to the Red Cross.
Our mission is to inform. As I said in a private email to another writer: "Since last week's terrible events, I've been wrestling with how a site like creativepro.com can best address what's going on. We are a small site with a specific audience. We know people have been on cnn.com all week (I know I have) for general news and donation appeals. We cannot ignore the tragedy yet we must stay true to our audience. I think Katrin's and John's essays and photographs offer a perspective that will resonate for many of us in the business."
"In A New York Minute"? How catchy. How disgusting. Does either of these articles shed new light on the events? No, not really.
Publishing these articles is just another example of designers being self-congratulatory drama queens.
Authors: Do you even realize how in poor taste it is to "copyright" the images of the destroyed towers? Are you protecting your right to make money from those images? Disgusting.
Creativepro: Why didn't you choose to report on the columns of light memorial, or the proposed new WTC architecture? Now that would be DESIGN news related to what has happened.

Thank you for sharing your thoughts, emotions and images of last Tuesday's unspeakable nightmare. Just as it is good to express your feelings through your art, it is good for us to read your words and view your photographs.
I agree - the WTC was a work of art - an opalescent sculpture of steel and glass. Its presence was always felt; tall and proud reflecting the colors of the sun or moon light.
But buildings can be reconstructed - all the lives that have been affected by this tragedy can't. We have witnessed the human spirit defy devistation and pull together as one to rescue, comfort and mourn. We have learned to trust one another and to lean on each other again and it feels good. That is the greatest lesson learned!

i looked for any mention of lives lost. found none except re: the smell and how it affected him. how unfortunate - no "great view" and having to smell human decay. by the way - i noticed your great photo is very prominently copywritten. hope you make lots of money off of it.
No money is being made
