Too funny. I'm going through the same thing right now as well. Same thing... different year. Got to be better than last year. And the year before... etc. And here I sit. No concept and about a week left to get them made.. and yep, that New Year concept is looking pretty appealing...
For the first three years of my sons life whether he agreed to it or not I photographed him and painstakingly made a card with him photoshoped into some christmas collage. Then I had the bright idea of stamping a card and sewing lightbulbs onto 25 cards (learnt my lesson there!) Every Year it would be the same dilema and each year I would swear I would start this process in the summer, yeah that has gotten the same response as the organizing my receipts every year! When my second child came along I had a brief thought about making the christmas card, which lasted all of about half a day then realized that my son (6 yrs old) could draw fun pictures for the family and mail as cards, and everyone else got the boxed card from Hallmark! I figure that my clients will remember me more by giving them great service, than a card that get's lost with everyone elses, and it sure makes it a lot less stressful for me around this time of the year.

I totally understand where Molly's coming from on this! Every year, I have the best of intentions when it comes to making paper Christmas cards for my friends, but the procrastinator in me always foils my plans. I've become a joke in my own mind, so this year I've just decided to accept the fact that a paper card from me will never be a reality for my loved ones. Instead, I'll make my traditional "Procrastinator's Christmas Card" -- a self-designed PDF or JPEG that reaches all my friends in a timely manner (and that they all seem to enjoy) -- and stop sweating it.
