Similar to Flash 'Painting'

I'm happy to see this ability has been added to Illustrator. Having used Flash for awhile, the basic concepts are very familiar. My firm had actually asked me to go ahead and get the CS2 update (currently Ai10, PS7 and ID2) yesterday and then I saw this article this morning. I'm excited to try out the Live Paint capability, as well as the Live Trace. One thing I wonder is if when choosing to stroke the Live Paint object if there is an option for inside/outside/center for the stroke? It didn't look like it, but maybe it's available from another palette? Very nice article - it whet my appetite.

trouble with live paint

I can easily use this tool to color simple shapes, but when I draw a cartoon figure...stopping and starting with my strokes of the pencil tool, I run into many places where the Live Paint tool refuses to fill. I have tried, by setting the large gap provision and enlarging the drawing hugely and viewing in outline form to spot any unclosed paths... still no fill color flows. What could I be neglecting to do?
