Seems like Adobe was caught by surprise with the Intel switch ;) The developer versions were out in time for almost all the other developers. Just a year ahead of release, so?
Maybe they'll leverage from Core Image and maybe even provide a colorspace that's usable for film. 16-bit per channel... c'mon everyone else provides at least 16 bit logarithmic or 32-bit float.
