Blackletter Italic

Speaking of blackletters, there are at least some designers have made italic versions of it:

*Cerulean
*Linotype Buckingham Fraktur
*Schneider Buch Deutsch Italic, Scoto Roberger Fraktur, Gans Antigua Manuscrito, Fette Gotische Maiuskel, Gothic16 CG

InDesign's search & replace will work fine:
First, search for a wildcard ^? + italic, and set the replacestring to null, with your ID italic character style. This will apply the italic character style to any italic character.
Then, remove all local formatting through the paragraph panel, "Clear all overrides." It won't clear your character style.
Voilà!

Thanks for talking about punctuation following italics. Nothing's resolved, but at least I feel a little better. :)
