The advice given in this article is fine, yet the tool they describe, TexEdit, is only for Macs. How about us trusty Windows users? Anything like that out there for us?
I have have used every page layout tool that has been on a PC, and this has always been an issue.

I know I've read and attended seminars discussing the parameters for distorting type. Seems like there was an acceptable amount that you could "stretch" type vertically or horizontally, as well as being sent to the underworld for gross distortions. I'm not speaking about distortion for logo design. I'm speaking about deliberately distorting type in advertising heads & subheads to emphasize or get the selling point across. What I have seen is ridiculous text distortions which destroy the natural form of the fonts, and I want concrete proof that these distortions are typographically incorrect. Can you offer any sources on type distortion that I could use as examples of how NOT to use a font?
Tex-Edit only for Macs??
