It's interesting the title didn't bother me until the reader who complained wrote in. I do agree the term "production monkey" makes light of the fine work production artists/designers do, many at the last minute, working overtime and weekends to fix something a graphic designer did. A wise designer once told me the best way to learn design is to learn production. When I worked on strengthening my production skills, I became a better designer. I still have lots to learn, but I'm greatful for the production mentors I've worked with.
