Nice, thorough review
It will be interesting to see the industry's response.
They need a proofchecker ... "Inspitation to Goe"?
Pantone needs to look at what they produce. The graphic in the press release shows a book in the box labelled "Inspitation to Goe" <http://www.pantone.com/pages/pantone/Pantone.aspx?pg=20494&ca=10>. You'd think that someone there would catch the foul-up in the rendering.
HEE... what a great catch
Thanks to tekwrtr for pointing out the typos we all hope we don't make.
Munsell
Typo...Munsell Color System...not Munsel.
Informative article. Thanks for the overview of the new system.
This is obviously not written from a commercial printers point o
It comes in a cool box is no reason to endorse a new product. The whole article reads as an advertisement for Pantone instead of an objective view of a new system. The system is clearly devised as a new stream of revenue. "Blame it on the printer" who already has the impossible job of trying to proof and match on press is a phrase that needs to go. The problems that this new system will create are far bigger than any perceived improvement. Designers will jump at the new system and printers will be forced to accomodate them regardless of whether the system works well or not.
