Macro shooting tips
Good, straightforward tips. I appreciate the focus on eliminating background clutter--something I tend to overlook at times, as I am usually so intent on the subject, I forget to look for distracting objects, colors, etc. in the background.
Re: shooting jewelry
Can you give more information on in what way you're unhappy with the detail? And to make sure a wider audience sees your information and gets the chance to respond, I suggest that you start a new thread in the Photography area of the forums. Go to http://www.creativepro.com/forum/general-photography to start a new thread.

Shooting Jewelry?
I have to shoot some close-ups of costume jewelry, I'm using closeup filters, a tripod. and remote, and unhappy with the details. Any advise?
