what about the model's rights?

awesome info, I didn't know much about the photographer's rights.
I have a question for you, as a model, and I don't seem to be finding the answer anywhere.
I usually work in good faith, and not really with any official written contracts.
I did a shoot with a photographer, that lasted an entire day, and he had promised me to give me 10 pictures from my shoot that he would work on, and I had already written to him that the pictures would be used for promotional purposes for my singing and dancing career. I would offer him exposure and he was doing it in return at no charge.
However, he is really busy and has written back to me (many months later) that he won't be fixing any more pictures for me. He has already sent 3 and that's it.
Honnestly, I don't mind if a photographer sets his own rules from the beginning, but if I would have known this I would have turned out this way I would not have wasted my time and just worked with someone else. It's as simple as that.
I find this very rude, I've offered to pay for the remaining 7 pictures or even just get them untouched and give him credit for it if he wishes, and he's just being an insulting jerk. Anyhow, what is your opinion on this and is there a possibility of legal pursuit?
I'm not interested in money, I'm just interested in what I was promised.
