I wish the Gradient Mesh feature would be given some attention. It's only gotten worse since its initial release in Illustrator 8! It has so much potential.
Please incorporate the same Animation functionality (Frames and Timeline) that's in Photoshop BUT go one step further and also include the ability to export those animations as a vector Flash/SWF format. And while you're at it, please incorporate the same vector Flash/SWF export capability in Photoshop.
Thanks in advance.

Adobe has done something wonky with the Smart Guides snap to point feature - it doesn't work nearly as ACCURATELY as it did in past versions, and that is a big downer for me since I am a technical illustrator.
Not to mention what others said about the gradient mesh tool - it was so much EASIER to use in AI8!
there is a sophisticated pattern generator ability within illustrator. You would be amazed what you can do with this "simple tool once you get the hang of it. Unfortunately like any other creative endeavor it takes ideas to make it move. Try using the swatch palette and create your own designs-I suggest you start simple, like dots and stripes. Once you get the hang of it you can be the next William Morris-it's really a matter of how hard you want to learn and work. There's lots of info out there-google pattern tutorials-here's one to start.

Some time our clients make spread artwork in single art board.Inorder to make these pages individual we make cropmarks in indiviual pages and save it as seperate pages then release crop marks move the bounding box to next artwork again make crop marks and make pdf of it. how to do this in CS4.
I completely agree with post #5 above; I really hate what Adobe has done to smart guides in CS4. The snap to point feature doesn't work nearly as well as in CS3. I'm using CS4 at work, and CS3 at home, and this alone makes me prefer CS3. It also seems as though the Align menu has changed. There's no longer an 'auto' option in the Distribute Spacing drop down list. This seems like a step back in terms of ease of use.
The gradient tool is much improved though - transparent gradients... much easier.

I often create repeatable patterns in Adobe Illustrator. Often, I need to alter a pattern. I drag it out of swatches, make the necessary changes and drag the whole thing back into swatches. Today, I tried to drag a pattern out to do this but it won't drag out. I've had this happen once before and don't know why. Nothing that I can see is locked. Help please!
Thank you!!!

Freehand allows unlimited artboards, but Illustrator CS4 only capable for 100 artboards, can they improve it...
