If you're not connected to the Internet, choosing Help > Photoshop Help opens the local help files (installed automatically) in your default browser window. This is true for all the CS4 apps.
On a Mac, the home page for the local help files are here:
Mac HD > Library > Application Support > Help > [your language, such as en_US] > [Name of Program] > [Version number] > index.html
i've had cs4 for about 3 weeks and adobe really did a number on the curves/eye dropper selection..i'm all for moving ahead and making things consistent across apps but this change really hampers efficiency and productivity..it is bad enough i have to select the finger tool with the cursor but now when i make several points on the curve i have to move my hand across the keyboard for the - = keys and then back to the left of the keyboard to select a different channel..and the cursor will constantly change the Output Input readings(even when i have a point selected) in the curves dialog box so i have to move the cursor off the image and nudge the point to see what my current moves are for that point on the curve..and why does the finger tool require a different movement for RGB when my curve is always set to pigment?..i'm usually gung ho about updates as it usually means new tools and new capabilities but this isn't looking very good so far..i'll give it a few more weeks, but i'm currently quite disappointed...

Thanks for sharing these info with us! I was reading something similar on another website that i was researching. I will be sure to look around more. thanks...
Photoshop now supports the standard Mac and Windows keyboard shortcuts for switching between documents. And while the zooming keyboard shortcuts remain the same (whew!), Adobe has added Control/Command-1, which sets the zoom level to 100% and makes Photoshop zooming behavior consistent with the rest of the CS4 suite. nys regents | regents exam | math b regents | tanning lotion
No doubt that Adobe Photoshop is a great product, we have been using it in our store for many years, hey keep the price down so people can afford and more people can explore and try your product and get Photoshop more popular use.
Hi,
Just thought you may wish to know that the Extract Filter is not gone completely - for those who liked it. It can be found in the Goodies folder on your Mac Disk that came with the package. Also a couple of the other 'goodies' still in there.
Missing in Action
Note that Extract, Picture Package etc plugins are available on the Content CD included with the CS4 installation under Goodies...
Full Help files available off-line

I forgot to include the "Adobe" folder in that path to the help files:
Mac HD > Library > Application Support > Adobe > Help > [your language, such as en_US] > [Name of Program] > [Version number] > index.html
this is progress?
