Bare Bones Software announced the release and immediate availability of BBEdit® 9.1, a significant update to its professional strength HTML and text editor.

In a Mac industry first, BBEdit 9.1 includes a copy of Consolas Regular, an antialiased font optimized for the editing of text and code, including markup, on screen. Consolas is licensed from Ascender Corporation specifically for use with BBEdit 9. BBEdit 9.1 also introduces a revamped interface for working with files via FTP and SFTP, significant improvements to FTP file transfer performance, and workflow refinements for projects and multi-file searching.

Pricing and Availability
BBEdit 9 is available at a suggested retail price of US$125. Any registered owner of BBEdit can upgrade for US$30. Upgrades may be ordered from the Bare Bones Software online store.

Anyone who purchased BBEdit 8.5 to 8.7 on or after January 1, 2008 is eligible to receive a free upgrade. Eligible customers who purchased directly from Bare Bones Software have been notified via email.
