Berthold Types, a leading independent type foundry and successor to the H. Berthold foundry, announced the release of over 250 original Berthold Exklusiv typefaces in OpenType.
This latest release of Berthold OT fonts is based upon the collection of Berthold fonts formerly part of the Adobe Type Library. These Berthold BE fonts are available in Post-Script flavored OpenType (Western European Character Set).
Many of the Berthold BE OT fonts are some of Bertholdís most popular typefaces, including Akzidenz-Grotesk, Barmeno, Block, Berthold Bodoni, Bellevue, Delta, Formata, Imago and more.
In addition to this latest release of Berthold BE OT fonts, Berthold has reissued all of the Berthold BE fonts in PostScript Type 1 format for mac and windows updating them for compatibility with the OpenType versions.
All new BE typefaces in Type 1 and OpenType versions include the Euro currency symbol as well as design specific math symbols. Berliner Grotesk, Block, Berthold Garamond, and Imago also contain additional weights.
Other recent OpenType releases by Berthold include Akzidenz-Grotesk Pro PostScript flavored, Akzidenz-Grotesk Std in PostScript and TrueType flavors, and Formata Pro in PostScript and TrueType flavors.
Building on its strong heritage, Berthold Types, successor to the highly regarded H. Berthold type foundry, looks back onto a history of 148 years of distinguished type design. Guenter Gerhard Lange, along with Bernd Moellenstaedt and Dieter Hofrichter, form the core of Berthold's 'Type Atelier' located in Munich and Berlin to provide an indispensable element in the continued development of the Berthold Exklusiv typefaces.
