Emigre has unveiled Jonathan Barnbrook's Priori Acute, another member in his Priori family. Each Priori Acute character creates a multidimensional illusion that M.C. Escher would be proud to claim as his own. The font also includes ornamental elements designed to be combined into patterns. The OpenType version of the font sells for $50.

The Hoefler & Frere-Jones foundry have introduced Vitesse, which they call a "slab serif for the 21st century... confident and stylish in any situation." Its character set covers more than 100 world languages, including all of Central Europe. The 12-style set costs $199.

Visually, P22's Nudgewink Pro harkens back to the 1960s. The Pro version of this OpenType font includes discretionary ligatures, alternates, and ornaments. Until January 31, 2010, you can buy the Nudgewink Pro Set for $49.95 (regularly $69.95) or the Basic Set for $29.95 (regularly $39.95).
