callas software expands the companies technology branch and launches Command Line Interface (CLI) versions of their current Acrobat Plug-Ins pdfCorrect and pdfColorConvert. These tools, initially designed as enhancements for Adobe Acrobat 6 and 7, are now also available as stand-alone applications - so is pdfInspektor3, which has recently been licensed by Adobe as preflight module for Acrobat 7.
All CLI modules are released for Windows and Mac OS X platforms ; Linux and Sun Solaris based editions are currently under development and will be ready for shipment in September 2005. pdfInspektor3 CLI (analyzes and preflights PDFs), pdfCorrect CLI (fixes errors in PDFs) and pdfColorConvert CLI (converts RGB/Spot Color to CMYK) offer the same range of functionality as the Plug-In versions but do not require Adobe Acrobat. They have especially been designed to be integrated into inhouse production environments, web services or other software solutions.
"We noticed a growing demand for stand-alone PDF solutions. Our customers kept on requesting callas PDF solutions suitable for being integrated into their own workflows, allowing them to process even large numbers of files automatically and at high speed", explains callas software CEO Olaf Druemmer. The price for each CLI module ranges from 2.490 EURO (for server based use) to 4.999 EURO (for ASP based use), CLI bundles are also available.
