DataLinker Adds Unicode Support

Teacup Software announced a free update of their DataLinker database publishing product for Adobe InDesign CS3. The update adds support for numerous encodings for ODBC data sources, including Unicode standards UTF-8 and UTF-16. It also add many usability enhancements and delivers some new features using enhanced scripting support. DataLinker is known for its strong feature set and competitive pricing, and the enhancements announced today makes it an even stronger entrant in the database publishing field.
Scripting enhancements
DataLinker already supports scripting using XML Rules. The new update adds scripting methods allowing even more sophisticated scripting abilities. With the sample scripts provided, DataLinker now offers the ability to update all instances of a given field in a document, and the ability to update everything in a document but images for speedier updates. These scripts are available for you to modify, update and enhance as you need.
