Flash Conference Sets Spring 2009 Dates

Flash on Tap, the first-ever Flash design and development conference and beer-tasting festival, today announced spring conference dates, May 28-30, 2009 in Boston. The conference organizers, Infrared5, Influxis and Red5Server have planned both educational and inspirational sessions while tapping into one of the key elements of a successful conference — delivering an opportunity to network with industry leaders, colleagues and customers.
The Flash on Tap conference is organized around main-stage speakers which appeal to all attendees followed by afternoon break-out sessions where attendees can choose the sessions they wish to attend. The mid-day presentations include small talks and provide attendees with information and inspiration around skill-building, technique, professional growth and creativity. All conference events take place in the Flash on Tap Beer Garden and Theatre Lounge.
On the main stage, speakers are evenly balanced between Flash design speakers such as GMUNK (Bradley Grosh) and Chris Georgenes — and Flash development speakers including John Grden and Grant Skinner. Motion graphics guru GMUNK, presents GMUNKkickdown09 while Chris Georgenes, Mudbubble LLC, gives insights into advanced animation workflows with his presentation on Flash Animation Tips and Tricks.
John Grden, Senior Software Developer, Infrared5 will show how to optimize Flash projects for the leading open source 3D rendering library for Flash in his talk, Papervision on Viagra. And, Grant Skinner, CEO/Architect at gskinner.com, covers Things Every ActionScript Developer Should Know. Additional main-stage speakers include presentations by visionary industry leaders covering a wide range of topics relevant to the Flash community. A full list of speakers and their topics can be viewed on the website.
“With the recent launch of Flash Player 10 as part of Adobe’s CS4 product release, and the upcoming Flash Media Server 3.5 with its new features, as well as new stuff coming from exciting projects like Red5 and Papervision3D happening in the open source world of Flash, the new conference dates allow the Flash industry to share their unique perspective on these topics while the topics are hot,” said Chris Allen, Flash on Tap Conference Program Developer and Infrared5 CEO. “The Flash community has always been about figuring out how to master code and creativity and then sharing it with each other. We’re offering a way for the community to come together and do that.”
The first 100 registrants can purchase Super Early Bird tickets for $495, which includes a signed, custom-designed Keith Peters limited-edition Flash on Tap t-shirt.
