Free For All: Art Box Photoshop Swatches
When you’re a graphic designer or digital artist nothing evokes the innocence of childhood like the thought of Crayola crayons. And, whether adult or child, if you work in natural media—you know, drawing utensils that don’t have batteries or rubber tips in them—you have an intimate relationship with natural media colors.
Unlike the digital realm of RGB, crayons, colored pencils, markers, and paints do not come in 16.7 million shades. They come in packs of 8, 16, 32, 64, and 120. (Can you imagine the size of the green and gold box 16.7 million crayons would require?) While you can find all the Copic marker or Prismacolor pencil colors in RGB, it might take quite a while and lots of trial and error.
Instead, I offer you this Free for All; below you will find sets of swatches designed to help you find that perfect natural media shade for use in Photoshop, Corel Painter, and other applications that support Photoshop-format ACO swatch libraries.
Bonus: Check out Color-Swatches.com to find swatches and color formulas matching popular brands, fabrics, and lines of interior, exterior, and automobile paints.
