Free For All: Royalty-Free Halloween Photos

4

The Autumnal Equinox was Saturday, 22 September, and you know what that means! Right! WalMart goes wall-to-wall with the Christmas stuff! Er, um… That may be true, but that’s not the holiday the Autumnal Equinox brings to my mind. For me, that magical first day of Fall begins the countdown to Halloween. It’s when my mouth begins to water, thinking of all those single-wrapped Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups my daughter will collect door to door for me. Right about now is when I start to get excited, thinking of what costume I’ll put together to stand at the door, palming the Milkyway Darks and passing out the rest of the candy in the bowl of assorted. This year shall I be a sparkly vampire impaled by Buffy’s stake? Or should I go truly obscure, dressing up as a lead character in a recent Adam Sandler film?

Well, I’ll worry about that later. For now I get to do my favorite Halloween activity—yes, even ahead of eating single-wrapped Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups—I get to give away free Halloween-related stuff!

Today’s Free for All is like a big candy bag you bring to the door late in the evening, after all the other trick-or-treaters have gone inside to assess their haul. None of that one or two items. No way. Hold up your bag, kid, let me pour my bowl of treats into it.

From my favorite free (and royalty free) stock photography site, Stock.xchng, I’ve once again assembled a mixed bag of Halloween-themed and Halloween-inspired images. There are 180 in all, some creepy, some corny, all free and royalty free, spread across three lightboxes (linked below). Of course you’ll need to sign up for a free Stock.xchng account. After that, you’ll be freer than a spirit during the Witching Hour, able to download any or all 180 images!

No thanks are necessary, however if you’d like to collect single-wrapped Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups, you can send them to me after the 31st care of this website…

How are they FREE when a user ID and password are required?

    Hi Brian-

When we say “free” we mean no payment required. Many sites offering free stuff do ask for something in return, usually contact info so they can try to sell you other stuff later on.

How about finding easy to use free email templates that designers can “plug-n-chug” for use?

    Yea Brian. Get a life!
