HELIOS Software GmbH, a leading provider of enterprise and prepress server solutions, enables significantly reduced prepress workflow costs with HELIOS PDF HandShake UB, which integrates the new pdfInspektor3 from callas software.
Now, HELIOS PDF HandShake users can automatically inspect PDF files to verify printing compatibility, and conformance with standards such as PDF/X. pdfInspector3, the industry standard for checking PDF files, is automated by PDF HandShake to examine PDF files as soon as they are created. Automated server-based PDF preflight is easy to use, saves time, and ensures that incoming and outgoing PDF files are production compatible. Users get the same results as if each PDF was manually verified using Adobe Acrobat Professional.
pdfInspektor3 is included in PDF HandShake UB and works fully integrated with the entire HELIOS product suite. HELIOS ImageServer adds hot folder support for automatic or interactive preflight. HELIOS WebShare provides a fast and secure managed file transfer platform for remote users. This high level of integration provides breakthrough, server-based, automated PDF checking from any networked PC at any point in the workflow. PDF reports, output directories, and post-processing actions, can all be freely accessed and configured.
Media houses can now integrate PDF verification when uploading files using HELIOS WebShare UB. In so doing, the service provider offers the user the opportunity to check on their own, via any web browser, the quality of the PDF. This will reduce errors and considerably accelerate the delivery and preparation of PDF jobs.
"We used to employ PitStop for manual preflighting on five desktop workstations and it was tedious," explained Otto Stutzig, CIO of Floramedia, an Austrian media house (http://www.floramedia.at). "When we migrated to HELIOS PDF HandShake with pdfInspektor, we achieved a fully automated, server-based PDF preflight workflow that works perfectly and saves significant time on every job."
"With PDF preflight integrated throughout the HELIOS product line, local and remote users can benefit from server automated PDF preflighting", said Helmut Tschemernjak, president of HELIOS. "The flexibility of preflighting PDF jobs from Mac, Windows, and web based users via hot folders and scripting workflows is unique in the industry."
HELIOS PDF HandShake UB with pdfInspektor3 is now available for purchase from an authorized HELIOS reseller. Existing customers with current "Software Upgrade Service" agreements may download the update free of charge.
