Creative and prepress professionals that use Hewlett-Packard printers and scanners can now achieve more consistent and accurate color with new, easy-to-use color management solutions. HP color management systems, powered by GretagMacbeth technology, are now bundled with a selection of HP printer and scanner products throughout EMEA.
Wide range of bundled solutions
In an expansion of the partnership it began last year with color management leader GretagMacbeth, Hewlett-Packard now provides the HP Colorimeter with its gp solutions (Graphic Professional) which includes a wide range of printers and one of its high-end scanners: the HP Photosmart 8750gp studio quality, A3 8-ink photo printer; the HP Designjet 30gp A3+, the Designjet 90gp A2+, and HP Designjet 130gp A1+ professional photo-quality printer both with internal color sensoring technology for color accuracy and the HP Scanjet 8200gp, a 4800 dpi pro scanner.
The HP Colorimeter, a version of the award winning GretagMacbeth Eye-One Display 2 monitor calibration and profiling solution, provides accurate monitor calibration and profiling for all types of monitors, including laptop. Accurate on screen color enables the user to make reliable color based decisions and can use the monitor as a reliable soft proofing color workstation. An accurate on-screen preview helps users to significantly improve productivity by reducing rework and reprints, saving time and consumables.
The HP Colorimeter is bundled with a customized HP Edition of GretagMacbeth's Eye-One Match color management software plus a set of generic ICC output profiles created with GretagMacbeth ProfileMaker 5 software.
In addition, Hewlett-Packard is bundling the HP Spectrophotometer (an OEM version of the award-winning Eye-One Pro device) together with the HP Color Laserjet 9500gp printer targeted for in-house publishing applications. The HP Spectrophotometer can be used for calibrating and profiling both displays and output devices, ensuring the accurate and predictable color for the best possible color match between monitor and final output. This bundle includes the HP Edition of Eye-One Match software for profiling and calibration of displays and CMYK and RGB (small test chart) output profiling. The HP Color LaserJet 9500gp enables users to quickly and efficiently produce short runs of impressive promotional documents, from booklets to A3 posters, using a variety of print media.
Existing HP customers can now also buy the HP Spectrophotometer as an additional accessory to add color management functionality to their existing HP printer or any printer outside the gp solutions category.
