Mag+ Lowers Price of Tablet Publishing, Adds Android Support

Just shy of a month ago, I wrote about the ability to create and share iPad apps for free using Adobe InDesign and Mag+. However, that free workflow prevents you from publishing in the iTunes App Store. At the time, the least expensive InDesign-to-App Store workflow I knew of
was Adobe’s $395 Single Edition.
Now Mag+ has slashed that cost almost in half. Its $199 Mag+ Go option lets you start in InDesign and end up with an app you can distribute in the App Store and in the Android Marketplace. The app can only be a one-off — that is, not a periodical — but it’s still well-suited for books, catalogs, and other standalone publications. Plus, you can upload corrected files at any time for no additional fee. If you’re publishing periodicals or large numbers of apps and want to stay with Mag+, you’re probably better off with one of its two other pricing options.
Do you know of even less-expensive ways to publish a tablet app that begins its life in InDesign? I’d love to know, if so. Just click the word “Comments” below to share.
