Master Colors and Pantone: Sweet Harmony

Master Colors LLC has signed a licensing agreement with Pantone, Inc. that will provide the company the rights to integrate colors from the worldwide standard PANTONE® MATCHING SYSTEM® and the new PANTONE Goe™ System into Master Colors’ innovative color harmony software.
Pantone is the world leader in accurate color specification and communication in the design, printing and publishing, and a variety of other industries.
Master Colors, LLC (www.master-colors.com) is the world leader in Color Quantification Technology for digital color and imaging.
“We are excited about our relationship with Master Colors and look forward to the deployment of PANTONE Colors utilizing their unique technology to aid designers in creating color schemes.” says Andy Hatkoff, vice president of technology licensing for Pantone. “Master Colors software will provide a valuable design tool that should become an indispensable component for color composition.”
Artists all over the world use PANTONE Colors in their professional work every day. Master Colors has undertaken the project of developing a Harmonic Selection System for PANTONE Colors that will allow artists to select color swatches in an effortless workflow that perfectly simulates the way designers choose colors to create harmonious combinations in their work.
Master Colors employs the notion of combined HVC contrast (Hue, Value, Chroma) to provide a coherent underlying orderliness to the color swatch selection process. The breakthrough truly makes the PANTONE Colors an absolutely must-have, formidably powerful tool in the professional artist’s arsenal of knowledge and techniques.
Currently Master Colors offers a line of plug-ins for Adobe Photoshop and InDesign, which include the HVC Color Composer Professional Version as well as a Standard Version. Master Colors also offers a free online tutorial using downloadable templates taken from the works of Henri Matisse and Pierre Bonnard.
“We at Master Colors are so excited about our relationship with Pantone we are practically jumping out of our skins,” said Andy Hussie Sr., President of Master Colors. “The idea that artists all over the world can now use their PANTONE Colors not only as a powerful color identification and specification tool, but can soon also pick and choose their PANTONE Colors to create an infinite variety of exquisitely beautiful harmonies is the fulfillment of a dream.”
PANTONE® and other Pantone, Inc. trademarks are the property of Pantone, Inc.
