Mohawk Updates Popular Guide for Sustainable Paper Choices

Mohawk Fine Papers Inc. has reissued its popular print buyers guide, Sense and Sustainability.  First issued in 2005, as part of the “Ask Mohawk” series, the booklet contains practical information on sustainable paper choices, how to calculate the environmental impact of your project, and up-to-date information on what the various environmental seals of approval mean.
“Sustainability is such a big subject that we have found our customers looking for ways to break it down into actionable steps.  Sense and Sustainability is a popular tool because it’s clear, concise and authoritative.  The updated version has been expanded to include information on carbon neutral, our move to offsetting 100% of our electricity with certified windpower certificates, and a listing of the third-party environmental certifications for each grade,” said Laura Shore, Senior Vice President, Communications, Mohawk Fine Papers.
Sense and Sustainability includes practical information such as:

  • What does sustainability mean and why does it matter?
  • What is carbon neutral?
  • The variations of chlorine-free papers
  • How to calculate and convey the environmental impact of your paper choices
  • What do the various seals of approval mean and how do you earn them?
  • Which logo is appropriate for which project?
