Monotype Imaging Adds Fonts from Three Foundries to Fonts.com

Fonts.com has debuted collections from the GarageFonts, Panache Typography and Underware typeface foundries. In the past 60 days, Fonts.com has added more than 930 products from these and other sources.
“With new foundries emerging virtually every day, there’s no shortage of typeface collections,” said Allan Haley, director of words and letters at Monotype Imaging Inc. “What distinguishes these releases is the quality of designs and reputation of the foundries.”
GarageFonts was established in 1993 primarily as a vehicle to distribute the first typeface designs created for Raygun magazine. More than 10 years later, the collection contains 175 products of assorted styles. The Metroflexâ„¢ family is a sans serif design available in three sub-families of different widths. Designer Thomas Mettendorf describes the Metroflex typeface as “an urban, multi-purpose type system.” GarageFonts products are offered in the PostScript® and TrueType® formats for Microsoft® Windows® and Macintosh® systems. Prices start at $29.
Formed in 1990, Panache Typography features the work of award-winning designers Dave Farey and Richard Dawson. The elegant Amethyste Scriptâ„¢ font gives the illusion of connecting hand drawn lettering. The majority of Panache Typography’s 133 products are available in the PostScript format for Windows and Macintosh systems. Prices start at $48.
The Underware foundry began in 1999 with employees in Den Haag, Helsinki and Amsterdam. The Dollyâ„¢ family is a low-contrast serif design intended for long passages of text. The 12 Underware products start at $55 and are available mostly in the TrueType and PostScript formats for Windows systems and in the PostScript format for Macintosh platforms.
In addition to the new collections, Fonts.com has recently added fonts from several foundries already represented on the site, including URW, Elemeno, Elsner+Flake, Font Bureau and Monotype.
As the Internet’s most comprehensive and convenient place to preview, purchase and download fonts, Fonts.com offers single fonts, packages, family volumes and type libraries, including both the Monotype® and ITC® libraries. Visitors are greeted with clear navigation and multiple search options in addition to articles, tips and techniques. Live customer care representatives are available to assist in identifying and selecting typefaces and to resolve technical issues. Fonts.com also provides information about Monotype Imaging’s custom font services.
