Monotype Imaging Releases the Adobe Type Collection, OpenType Edition

Monotype Imaging has introduced the Adobe® Type Collection, OpenType® Edition, with over 2,900 typefaces on one CD including more than 400 that are new to the collection. The library can be viewed by visiting www.fonts.com and accessing the Font Packs/Libraries section, where a PDF font catalog of the collection is also available.
“This is a powerful offering combining some of the best known and most used typefaces.” said Allan Haley, director of words and letters at Monotype Imaging. “The strength of this collection over previous versions is that all the fonts are available in the OpenType format.”
OpenType fonts provide new features to users, including cross-platform compatibility between Macintosh® and Windows® computers, the ability to access alternate characters without switching to a different font, and intelligent character substitution such as replacing multiple characters with ligatures.
The Adobe Type Collection, OpenType Edition includes popular typefaces from Adobe, Monotype, ITC, Linotype and other foundries. Matthew Carter and Adrian Frutiger are among the prominent designers represented. The collection offers the widely used Helvetica™, Adobe Garamond®, Frutiger™, Gill Sans® and ITC Stone® text families. Display designs include the ITC Avant Garde Gothic®, Eurostile™ and Graphite™ families and a selection of scripts such as the Caflisch Script®, Snell Roundhand™ and Freestyle Script™ families.
The Adobe Type Collection, OpenType Edition is available from Fonts.com by calling 1-800-424-8973 in the U.S. and Canada or 1-781-970-6020 from all other parts of the world. A 10 CPU library license is $4,999, and a 20 CPU license is $8,499.
