myPhotopipe.com, Inc. , a web-based online provider of digital photo processing and related services, today announced the launch of online proofing albums that allow event photographers to post photographs on the Internet immediately following an event, so that event participants can view them and order prints on a timely basis. The online albums are connected to myPhotopipe.com servers, thus providing a seamless ordering interface for fulfillment. The web interface, which is powered by ImageQuix, allows photographers to choose between a commission model or a fee-per-event model. In both cases, there are no monthly fees or minimums.
"It's equivalent to the 'fountain of youth' for digital photographers," stated Eric Casolo, Divisional Director of Digital Photo Tools at myPhotopipe.com, Inc. "It is a very easy and effective way to generate more revenues from an event, particularly during those critical first few days following the event when purchasing interest is at its highest levels. Our new tools make it a 'snap' to get proofing albums online instantly. Better still, this is clearly the least expensive online proofing tool on the market, and customers have the comfort of knowing that all prints are processed in our professional labs."
In 2006, under the moniker Digital Photo Tools, myPhotopipe.com, Inc. began a company-wide effort to invest in digital tools that would strengthen the bond between photographers and its labs. The first toolset allowed photographers to check their broadband connections and better manage upload times (www.myphotopipe.com/speedtest/index.html). The second toolset included ICC profiles that allow a photographer to calibrate the colors on their monitors with the colors in the Company's Atlanta and Charlotte labs, no matter where the photographer is located (www.myphotopipe.com/downloads/icc/index.html).
"Online proofing albums are the latest in our digital tools initiative. In addition to the ImageQuix product, the Company offers PixPlanner, a proprietary ftp-based online hosting service with backend order fulfillment, ROES, a photo prep and ordering platform and Gallery Works, an online photo service that serves the motion picture industry. Online proof albums and print fulfillment have been a rapidly growing part of our business, and we are committed to further investments in this area. This is another effective tool that ties the serious photographer to our labs and assures repeat business," concluded Casolo.
