New Lumix G3 Promises SLR Quality in a Point-and-Shoot Size

The $700 Panasonic Lumix DMC-G3 is a small, lightweight micro four-thirds camera, yet it has many features that you expect to find in a traditional digital SLR:
– An external Mode dial. Settings include Program, Shutter and Aperture Priority, Manual, Custom Modes, Scene Modes, and a Creative Control Mode.
– Built-in flash and hotshoe for connecting external flashes.
– Electronic viewfinder with 100% field of view

The 16MP Lumix G3 also includes the following:
– 1920 x 1080 HD video recording
– stereo sound
– LCD screen that responds to your touch and rotates 180° to the side and tilts 270° up and down
– Auto Focus tracking
– Improved noise suppression
– Comptaible with 11 lenses as is, plus you can buy a lens adaptor that lets you use older Leica M and Leica R lenses
