Getting to Know the Canon T2i
Matt sits down with best-selling photography author Jeff Revell to talk about the Canon T2i DSLR camera. The T2i is a great transition camera for photographers moving from a point and shoot to DSLR. It combines a lot of the comfort features of a point and shoot with the advanced features of a DSLR. As Jeff says, it is important to get familiar with all of the features on a camera. The more comfortable a photographer is with their equipment, the less they have to worry about changing settings and the more they can concentrate on composing a great image. Exploring the Canon 60D
Scott Kelby sits down with Jeff Revell, author of a best-selling series about how to use your camera gear, and the two of them go through all the functions and menus of the Canon 60D digital camera. Scott asks the questions that viewers might have about the camera while Jeff provides the explanations and demonstrations. This course will teach you everything you need to know about the Canon 60D, including all of the menu features, how to get the most out of the 18 Megapixel sensor, how to control off-camera flash, and how to use the new video capabilities.
Freeze Motion Photography
Photographing a moving subject requires the right balance of shutter speed, aperture, and lighting values. In this course, photographer Frank Doorhof shows viewers some techniques for freezing a subject in motion. He travels to an outdoor skate park to shoot a BMX bicycle rider and then goes into the studio to photograph a leaping model. During the shoots, Doorhof talks about how he adjusts his lighting setups and camera settings. He also discusses the importance of changing perspective, how to use strobes and flashes to achieve high contrast effects, a white balance trick for colorizing your images, and how to use scrims and flags to eliminate lens flare. Photographing moving subjects can yield some exciting and dynamic images so follow along with this Kelby Training course and learn how it is done.
Mastering Blend Modes In Photoshop
This course is the first of its kind with its main concentration on blend modes in Photoshop. If you are serious about mastering all that Photoshop has to offer, you will find that being familiar with blend modes is as important as mastering layers. In this course we will explore the function of blend modes in a variety of scenarios such as image restoration, sharpening, adjustments, special effects, and so much more. Wedding Photography – Shooting Around the Clock
Wedding photographers do not get to pick the shooting schedule on the day of the wedding, which means they may be shooting portraits at odd times, when lighting conditions are not at their best. In this course, Cliff Mautner shows viewers some tips and tricks for creating consistent, quality wedding images regardless of the lighting conditions. He starts with early morning light, tackles the bright sun of high noon, and races the falling sun of dusk. This course is designed to help photographers take anytime light and make good light out of it.
Using Wacom Tablets with Photoshop
This course covers the many ways to take advantage of pressure sensitivity in Photoshop. By utilizing the pen and tablet features built right in Photoshop you can have a greater degree of control that would be otherwise impossible with any other input device. We will also explore some techniques that will perhaps help you be more creative without being limited by the hardware.
Concert Photography
There are many challenges to shooting concerts. Photographers have to deal with variable lighting conditions, moving subjects, tight spaces, and a limited time to get the shots they need. Concert photographers Scott Diussa and Alan Hess share some of what they have learned during their years of experience.
