UNIVERSE Software GmbH, Neuss, Germany, has added important function for all PDF form users of its pdf-FormServer software solution - the option of saving PDF forms together with user data.
Up to now, PDF form users could only view and print their forms after filling them out in Adobe Reader. The pdf-FormServer package version 3.6 allows all of the data entered into the form to be saved, too - now including any formatting.
The main new feature in the current version of this software from Neuss, near Düsseldorf, is that all formats in the form fields can be preserved and saved along with the form data entered by the user – either as a PDF or as a PDF for later electronic processing.
This means that even complex data entries can be loaded at any time, and processed or altered without changing the actual structure of the PDF. The PDF itself remains protected from change, thus preserving its authenticity as you would expect from a PDF file.
The software is available in various versions: a stand-alone version, a server version for the intranet, and a Web version for unlimited use on the Web.
A free demo version is available for download from http://www.pdf-office.com. The stand-alone version costs € 33 including VAT, which includes updates and support.
Developed in pure Java, the software is compatible with Win 95, 98, 2000, NT, XP, and Mac OSX.
