Photobox.co.uk, the UK and Europe’s number one online community for photo printing and personal publishing, today gives every budding photographer the tools to sell their photographs online. The company has unveiled its new Pro Gallery service that allows photographers to create their own customized online gallery, personally selecting the products they sell and prices that they charge. Pro galleries are totally free to set up, PhotoBox charges a simple 10 % commission for each gallery sale.
Photographers can upload and manage their photos on PhotoBox.co.uk as normal and then simply head to the PhotoBox Pro Gallery site to convert their albums into collections that are displayed for sale. Each gallery can be personalized with the photographer’s own logo design, gallery description and contact details. By sharing a link to the gallery, collections can be viewed and purchased by the photographer’s own customer base. The entire range of print sizes plus a selection of simple gifts are available to sell at prices set by the gallery owner. PhotoBox handles all of the order processing, printing, posting and packaging and after sales customer care on behalf of the gallery owner. The gallery owner simply checks their admin page to see their sales and revenue.
The new Pro Gallery service has been co-created with photographers and works alongside PhotoBox’s web 2.0 consumer personal printing and publishing service. The original Pro Gallery service launched in 2002 with thousands of photographers using the service and contributing their ideas, many of which are now available with the new service and many more powerful selling and customization features will be available throughout 2009.
