Photoshop How-To: Pour a Stream of Colors Across an Image

You don't always need to buy stock images or hire an illustrator to get striking artwork. Here's how to create it yourself in Photoshop.
Written by Nathaniel Dodson on February 10, 2011

In this 10-minute video tutorial, I'll show you how to go from an empty canvas in Photoshop to an explosive color swath you can use in print or on the Web for all kinds of projects.

I'll talk about some tricks using filters and blend modes, brushes, warping, and even how to get a cool smooth color overlay effect. While I go through the steps quickly, you can pause the video at any time.

Re YouTube blocking

I understand why some companies block YouTube -- it certainly overflows with timewasters -- but there are many, many excellent learning tools there, too. Perhaps you could ask for an exception?

Nice Job!

I love quick tutorials. Precise and to the point. Learned some new tricks watching this. Also like that you didn't feel obligated to give both Mac & PC keys - most of us already know Option/Alt, Command/Control etc..
Good job!
