Print Buyer Boot Camp to Debut at 2nd Annual Print Buyers Conference

Print Buyers International today announced a newly developed program called Print Buyer Boot Camp!™, which will debut the day before their 2nd Annual Print Buyers Conference in November at the Westford Regency Inn & Conference Center in Westford, Massachusetts. This value-packed program will be offered from 1:00 to 5:00 pm on Tuesday, November 6th, and is designed to aid newer print and media buyers in the basics.

Those who wish to attend only the Boot Camp program on November 6th the fee is only $99. Online registration is required. Serving New Print Buyers
This half-day program was specially created to serve those who are new to the field of print buying. The targeted audience includes print buyers, graphic designers, purchasing agents, corporate communications employees, account executives in advertising agencies, and marketing professionals who have no background in printing and whose responsibilities include the procurement of printing. Every business person who is in a position where he or she needs to work with the commercial printing industry will benefit from Boot Camp — even Customer Service Reps and Sales Reps new to the printing industry. Attendees will learn the best print-buying basics from the industry’s top two experts in this field.
From the PBI Founder
“Learning about the printing industry and how to work with printers is very difficult, “said PBI founder Margie Dana, “and it is particularly daunting to people with no experience in print at all, who are new to the field of buying. Frank and I have created this Boot Camp curriculum to serve this audience. We’re both very excited about delivering a lively, fast-paced program that will give every attendee a solid foundation in buying print. I wish I had such a program when I started out!”
Basic Training
This new program was developed to give new buyers a basic grounding in working with the printing industry. The 12-topic program will cover the following:

  • The Most Common Printing Processes;
  • Digital Printing — What Is It and When Should You Consider It?;
  • Developing Good Job Specs;
  • The Buyer’s Responsibility vs. the Printer’s;
  • Buying Print Today — Where to Start;
  • What Every New Buyer Should Know about Paper;
  • Learning the Language of Printing;
  • How to Choose the Right Printer;
  • How to Work with Printers and Still Keep Your Cool;
  • Best Buyer Resources;
  • Horrible File Problems and How to Deal with Them;
  • What Drives Prices Up — and How to Keep Costs Down.

Print Buyer Boot Camp! attendees will receive numerous handouts and learning tools that will benefit them immediately on the job. Graduates of PBI’s Boot Camp will be armed with professional insights that normally take buyers years to master. This new knowledge will help them make informed decisions about print purchasing, which will translate into improved efficiencies and fewer mistakes.
Extended Early Bird Deadline for Conference
Because Print Buyer Boot Camp was just added to the Conference agenda, the Early Bird deadline for registration has been extended from September 30th to October 19th.
