In an article posted on Ars Technica, Ryan Paul reported that Rails and Merb programmers will join forces, and Merb will be folded into Rails 3, the upcoming major release of the open-source Web framework.

According to the article, Merb is not as widely used as Rails but does share some code with it and even offers notable advantages in certain contexts. Now that the personal conflicts among the programmers have been resolved, Merb lead developer Yehuda Katz will join the Rails core team to help integrate key elements of Merb into Rails 3.
