Take an Inspirational Trip to the Met at 82nd & 5th
Looking for some creative inspiration? Got two minutes? Then check out the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s new weekly series at 82nd & 5th. Yes, I realize that might be quite a long cab ride from where you are. 82nd & 5th is not only the physical address of the Met, it’s also the name of a year-long series of two-minute web videos showcasing 100 works of art and 100 curators who were inspired by them.
Currently, there are eight videos on the site and each Wednesday, two new videos premiere. The artworks under consideration range from a Frank Lloyd Wright room to an ancient Roman spork.
Each item is beautifully photgraphed and explained by a curator. Some items (like the Roman spork) can be can be viewed in 360°.
You can also explore the collection in timeline and geographical contexts, and sign up to be reminded each itme a new pair of videos is released.
