Teacup Software Releases DataLinker Plug-in

Teacup Software announces the release of DataLinker, a quick and easy way to connect databases to Adobe InDesign CS-2 documents. Users can link CSV (Comma Separated Value or a flat text data file) and, with an add-on plug-in, ODBC-compliant databases to a document by using a simple, user-friendly palette. DataLinker will automatically insert new information or changes made to the data source with a synchronize feature. The versatile plug-in offers powerful merge capabilities to insert data from a data source one field at a time or from multiple records simultaneously. DataLinker itegrates closely with Teacup’s TableStyles/CellStyles and BarcodeMaker plug-ins, offering extra productivity gains for people working with tables or barcodes.  DataLinker will be a valuable timesaver for anyone who needs to connect directly to external data such as price lists, product catalogs, budgets or annual reports.
         
DataLinker features include:
Links to an unlimited number of data sources in a single document. It’s simple and straightforward to connect to multiple CSV and ODBC data sources to an InDesign document.
Integrates with Teacup’s BarcodeMaker to automate barcode creation.  Create up to 21 customizable barcodes from database data. DataLinker is designed to work with Teacup’s BarcodeMaker plug-in.
Automatic Formatting.  Set a few rules on a field and DataLinker will automatically format text as it’s placed to ensure continuity within your document.
Easy data merging.  Simultaneously merge multiple records into an InDesign document. Data can be merged into a flat text file or a table.
Links images to image frames and then apply object styles when they are connected.
Quickly update your document with the synchronize feature. DataLinker will automatically insert any new information or changes made to the data source.
Availability and Requirements:
DataLinker retails for $299 and the ODBC add-on retails for $299  Both are available for download and purchase from Teacup’s website https://www.teacupsoftware.com. DataLinker and the ODBC add-on works with InDesign CS-2 on Macintosh OS X and Windows 2000 and above.
