Turn your DSLR into a 3D Camera with Kula Deeper

A little while back, I posted a story on the Poppy, a nifty $50 low tech device to turn your smartphone into a 3D camera. That was cool, but what if you wanted to take 3D photos with your DLSR? Now an Icelandic firm is developing a device that will enable you to do just that.

The Kúla Deeper attaches to a camera lens and uses four high-precision mirrors to split an image into two parts that can be combined into a 3D photo.

Accompanying software called Kúlacode can be used to process the images you capture into various 3D formats that you can view with 3D glasses, 3D TVs, or just by crossing your eyes.

The production of Kúla Deeper is being crowdfunded at karolinafund.com where a pledge of €59 or more will enable you to get your hands on a Kúla Deeper, stereoviewer, and anaglyph glasses.
