Turn Your iPhone into a 3D Camera with Poppy
Inspired by ViewMaster toys and antique stereoscopes, two inventors from Seattle, Ethan Lowry and Joe Heitzeberg have come up with a device that attaches to iPhones so you can capture and view full-color 3D video and still images. The Poppy is a purely optical device, requiring no batteries or electronics. You simply put your iPhone into it and look through the viewfinder. Mirrors and lenses create the 3D effect.

The Poppy has already been successfully funded on Kickstarter, but you can still chip in $49 and get one before they’re available for sale. Production on the Poppy begins in the fall, with anticipated shipping in time for Christmas.
