X-Rite and Caldera Announce i1iO Automated Chart Reader for Linux
X-Rite, Incorporated and Caldera have announced the immediate availability of the first ever Linux version of the award-winning X-Rite i1iO Automated Chart Reader.
The latest result of Caldera and X-Rite’s long-term and fruitful OEM partnership, the i1iO Automated Chart Reader for Linux will be driven by EasyMedia, Caldera’s integrated color management, color calibration and profile making solution for high quality and accurate output. Easy Media is powered by X-Rite’s ProfileMaker engine for ICC profile generation. All linearization, light and dark ink separation as well as ink limit and transitions are genuine Caldera technologies.
For customers who already own, or are considering an i1Pro device, the i1iO automated chart reader provides the power of i1 spectrophotometry with increased performance, enhanced speed, and fewer errors. i1iO, when combined with EasyMedia provides consistent and reliable results, increases productivity, and reduces the risk of errors while remaining easy to use by operators at all levels. It provides the fastest measurements for reflective test charts on various substrates up to 10 mm - from thin polybag material to ceramics and textiles. i1iO reads more than 500 patches per minute, thereby creating custom profiles in no time.
The EasyMedia /i1iO package is ideally suited to meet the color calibration and measurement needs of professional creatives/designers, photographers, prepress, corporate designers, ad agencies, as well as for print-for-pay, fine arts, sign shops, textile printing, large format printing and high speed digital printing environments.
“We are excited to be the first to bring an affordable color calibration and automation solution into the Linux production environment. Now anyone -- whether they are operating in a Mac, Windows or Linux environment -- can have access to hands-free, highly accurate automated color measurement regardless of the type or thickness of the substrate they are working with,” said Tobias Rausch, X-Rite’s i1 Solutions Product Manager.
