Font Fetish: Animated Alphabet

Thanks to this lively site, alphabetic inspiration is just a click away.

If you're reading this blog, you love type. And if you love type, you owe it to yourself to go to a Web site created by bag maker Crumpler:

www.crumplerabc.com

On that site, you'll find a riotously colored alphabet made from assorted materials. Why would a bag maker create a Web site devoted to the alphabet? I don't know -- I'm just happy they did.

The letters a, b, c, d, and e.

Each letter is a work of art, and each has its own unique animation. For example, the letter M is a cake shaped like that glyph. Click on the letter and you'll see a slideshow of the cake's journey from raw ingredients to a pile of crumbs.

The letter M in all its glory. Mmmmmm!

I bet it was tasty.

Thanks to John Nack for pointing out this gem.

Do you suffer from font fixations? There are sympathetic ears in the Fonts and Typesetting Forum.
