Pantone and the color experts at X-Rite recently announced the fall schedule of the company's highly popular seminar, Color Control Freak '08. It kicks off in New York on September 24 and ends up in San Francisco on November 19 with 6 more stops along the way.
Several Web sites boast font-recognition tools that can help you identify a mystery font. However, WhattheFont's approach is unusual. You scan and upload an image of the font you are trying to identify and very quickly find the match. If WhattheFont can't identify the typeface, ask the experts in the forum.
I don't usually talk about gadgets, but here are two that are truly needed for iPhone and iTouch users. The first is a stylus. While touch technology was designed for fingertips, manicured nails and fleshy fingers can make the accuracy of the touch technology go right out the window. The iPhone Japanese Touch Pen Stylus has a flexible tip that mimics a fingertip's ability to control the touch screen. It's sold out right now, but you can ask to be notified by email when it's available.
The second is a pair of gloves you can wear while using your iPhone. TavoGloves are full from wrist to finger and incorporate a new technology that emulates the human touch.
