iTunes recently rolled out iTunes U as part of the iTunes Music Store for Mac and PC. It includes more than 50,000 educational audio and video files, and I found some informative Photoshop tutorials that I was able to download and view for free. Not only can I have these on my laptop, but I can take them with me on the road with on my iPod or iPhone.

Over the past few years, more printers have been accepting print-ready PDFs from their clients without also requiring the source files. As a prepress professional, I’ve always requested that my customers include the source files — until now. With Pitstop Professional 08 from Enfocus I can select and edit PDF elements such as text, vector objects, and raster images, then change properties such as fonts, font embedding and outlining, color spaces, size and position, image resolution, and color profiles. Clients can be assured that the printing professional is maintaining the integrity of the PDF.
