Have you considered switching computer operating systems but feared the costly prospect of buying software you already had — for the old platform? You may not have to shell out more money after all. Adobe’s policy for OS-switchers involves signing an agreement stating that you have removed/destroyed all of the software on the old platform. Do that and Adobe will move your licenses to the new platform and send you replacement software. They may charge you for it, but nowhere near the cost of buying all new versions. Quark customers have it even easier. When I called the company’s customer service line, I was told that QuarkXpress 7 is not platform dependent, so I can simply use the same installer CD and the same serial numbers to move to my new platform. No costs involved!
