I love them - should make my desktop look like a periodic chart - I think it is a very clean look - I already look for my apps by color - this is perfect.

Tables have one giant advantage...

Comment by mtartist on October 10, 2006

If you are like me and have clients that wish to do simple edits to their site(s) - tables offer one huge advantage. The inexperienced client can much easier select text or an image in a table cell and replace the same. While this can be done with CCS based layout and / or Contribute or Co-Author, tables remain easiest and simplest. Occams razor.

What about the Olympus E-Volt 300?

Comment by mtartist on February 1, 2005

The Olympus E-300 uses a Kodak full frame sensor and lists for $839 with the "kit" 14 - 45 mm lens. It is 8mp and is a serious contender in image quality at most ISO. Better than Nikon, but not quite a silky as the Canon CMOS. But half the cost...

Alternative DV system

You Mac people make me crazy. I use a Dual G4 Final Cut system at work, however I could not afford the big outlay of capital required to have the same at home. Instead I put together a PIII sytem that is of higher quality for one tenth (1/10) the cost of the Mac system. Premiere 6 has one big advantage, you can use a very inexpesive capture card

I agree with most of what you say with one exception: I believe that you need one more column in your table: RAW SCAN SIZE, and that your final edit should be to drop the file size to the correct ppi. A compromise between your and Bruce's view. I know you get cleaner Full color images by bringing into Photoshop images scanned at higher resolutions than necessary.
