I'm a skeptical believer

The debate is interesting. What will be more interesting is when I see more jobs that make InDesign a requirement for applicants and more Printers taking on InDesign jobs. I've talked with lots of professionals in the industry and they are still on the cusp of realizing what InDesign is and implementing it into their workflow. In the meantime, most of their jobs are Quark.
Confusion about article

Although its very cool that the Auto Color feature has an expanded view through the options in the Levels and Curves dialog box, the article doesn't really explain what to look for in a 'clipping' percentage for shadows and highlights. You could play with that percentage all day long and I'm just not conviced that I'm going to get a better image with that.

It seems to me like people are TRYING to see a separation in technology and design. In your article the tech wizards were different from the design wizards. I completely have respect for Paula Scher's work as much as I respect Lynda Weinman's work.
Consolidate your product line Adobe!!!

One thing that Steve Jobs discovered about Apple when he returned as CEO was that the company offered way too many models of their computers and confused the consumers as to which one they needed for their work. I think Adobe is headed in the same direction with Photoshop, and their new Photoshop Lite program, PageMaker, InDesign, and FrameMaker, etc. It just creates aggravation
Just what we needed.

All I can say is great, that's just what we need. Another group of designers sitting up from on high criticizing everyone else in their profession. I think I'll stick with the Flash community. At least they help each other out before speaking words about other people's work.
Design and Programming will be inseparable in the future.

I'm surprised this is even an issue. We survived the desktop publishing era. In that time there wasn't a heck of a lot of new things to learn except new features of application programs and new printing technologies.
