Pricing
Comment by artworx on February 20, 2007
Human nature is such that if a person feels a company is asking a fair price for a product, or service, they will gladly pay for it. However, if that person feels the company is taking advantage of them by selling something at an unfairly high price - the person may feel inclined to steal it.
What A Waste of Time

First of all, the retouched photo in your article looks awful. Why bother with the Healing Brush if the results look like you just Blurred the heck out of the image. Second, I followed your instructions step by step, and my image looked worse than awful. Perhaps your tutorial needs some refinement. A Photoshop user since 1995.
Appropriate Pricing

I think the pricing for fonts needs to be reconsidered. Most cost about $20 a face, so if I need only: Roman, Bold, Italic, and Bold Italic; that's $100 bucks. $100 for a font that I may only use on one project or at best occasionally. It just doesn't make economic sense. I spend less money on software programs that I use everyday.
Good overview, but...

Nice explanation of color theory but how about some step by step tutorials on actually managing color. Where do I start? What programs if any are needed? Will ColorSync alone do the job? How can I create profiles if none exist? Etcetera.
Gold, Silver, Blue, Green?

So the teaser mentions the problems with different colored bases, but the article doesn't answer this question. As far as I'm concerned the article is too long and contains too much fluff for the few insights it provides.
Minor faults

I would first like to say that I love Apple, & my comments are more directed at the reporting not the Ti. From everything I've read the new Ti is probably the best laptop in the world at any price, & I think Apple has priced this reasonably. The reviewer fails to mention some things that might be a concern to most users.
The Cost of Fonts
Comment by artworx on November 14, 2000
I would like to see a discussion regarding what I consider to be the unreasonable cost to purchase fonts. Why should I spend $75-$150 for a family of four (regular, bold, italic, bold italic) for a font that I may use once. I gladly spend that much money for software which I use everyday, however this is not the case with a font.
Good, but missed some important points.

This is a good article for beginners, but some important points were missed and a correction needs to be made. You indicate that 150 line screen is the highest screen frequency used. This is not true. For process (color photographic images) work we use at least 175 line screen and depending on the nature of the subject matter will go as high as 300 lpi.
