Design and Distribute iPad Apps for Free?

The world of digital content creation seems like it's spinning so fast that you either run to stay current, or you're flung off into the inky darkness of ignorance.

That's certainly how I feel about iPad app creation. Just keeping tabs on Adobe's Digital Publishing Solution is hard enough, but there are several other worthy options, even if you limit yourself to tools that work with InDesign. (Of course, there's also QuarkXPress' App Studio.)

One of those Adobe alternatives is Mag+. Last week I got a demo of how Mag+ creates iPad apps. While it's an impressive tool, what really caught my attention is that you can distribute things you build with Mag+ for free. And since the software's free, too, that makes the cost of exploration exactly $0.

Turn a Red Car Gold in Photoshop

It's fun and useful to change the color of one object in a photo. While you can do it easily enough in Photoshop, the Hue/Saturation technique most people try usually doesn't work well. Instead, use Deke McClelland's foolproof method.
