Editor's Corner: I Have a Font Fetish
Alert readers of this newsletter may recall that we've been working on a CreativePro.com redesign. As with many large,
complex projects, it's taking longer than we thought. We're now very near the roll-out date, but I can't wait another
minute to introduce one feature of the new site: the Font Fetish blog.
Three times a week, Font Fetish will show samples of a noteworthy typeface and give you a bit of background, including
where to get the font. The first Font Fetish entry is in this newsletter. Introducing Lakeside:
Designed by Mark Simonson, Lakeside is a type family inspired by titles
from the 1944 film noir movie "Laura." While its inspiration
is old, the technology behind Lakeside is not — you'll find many OpenType features, such as automatic alternate letters,
automatic fractions, and multi-lingual support.
Lakeside starts at $39 for a single typeface. You can buy it from Font Bros
and MyFonts.com.
If you've seen any type you'd like highlighted in Font Fetish, please drop me a line.
